"I have a rendezvous with life in days I hope will come..." - Countee Cullen, 1920 A young woman's coming-of-age story, SuZanne explores the lives and relationships of a group of resilient African-Americans at the Taj Mahal, a small restaurant and bar in St. Louis, Missouri in 1944. This original play features dance and jazz music, with lyrics by Harlem Renaissance poets Countee Cullen and Claude McKay. The extremely talented cast of the developmental workshop includes Tyson Jennette, LeRoy McClain, Kelly McCreary, Yusef Miller, Janelle Mims, Michael Potts, Peterson Townsend, Mfoniso Udofio, Erin Michelle Washington, and Maia Nkenge Wilson.
